Staying in touch before the weekend

By Market Place

Works are progressing in Market Place and we now have no more than 15 metres of digging left to go.

We will be tarmacking Market Place today and then tomorrow the junction where Market Place meets Kings Arms Street should reopen and there will be then seven to eight parking bays available.

We anticipate works should be completed by next weekend and then reinstatement work will be carried out.

Thank you to everyone affected for your continued patience whilst we carry out these essential works.

Works update

By Church Street

We anticipate that we will be carrying out works at the junction where Market Place meets Church Street this Friday and over this weekend. The junction where Market Place meets Church Street will remain closed whilst we carry out works. One lane will be left open on Church Street for traffic to come down the road still.

This Thursday, the junction where Market Place meets King’s Arms Street will reopen.

Works should be completed towards the end of next week or at the start of the week after.

Works still on hold

We are continuing to review when work can commence in Mitre Tavern Yard, however due to the COVID-19 situation, we are uncertain if work will commence in mid-May.

Thank you for your continued patience. We will provide further updates on works commencing as soon as we have any.

We anticipate that this phase of works will be completed by the end of next week or by the start of the week commencing 18 May.

Update statement

By Mitre Tavern Yard

Thank you all for your patience. We just wanted to say that we are continuing to review when we may be able to restart work. We are hoping, depending on the wider COVID-19 situation, that we might be able to be back in Mitre Tavern Yard in mid-May although things are still uncertain. As soon as we have any further news, we’ll come back to you.

Staying in touch before the weekend

By Market Place

Work continues as planned in Market Place and we’ll be working over the weekend again in order to keep on schedule. We anticipate being close to the junction with Church Street in approximately two weeks’ time. As we get nearer, and Market Place becomes narrower, we may find increased congestion of services underground. However, we’ll keep you posted on this and let you know if this slows us down. At the moment we still have about 100m to go in total and anticipate the road closure continuing until the end of May.

Once again, thank you to everyone affected by our work. We appreciate your patience while we carry out this essential work.
